These Rules make a number of amendments to the Crown Court Rules (Northern Ireland) 1979 (S.R. 1979 No.90) (“the principal Rules”) which take account of the amendments made to Article 9 of the Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (“the 1999 Order”) (special provisions relating to child witnesses) by the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
